ARMA International

ARMA International is a not-for-profit professional association and the authority on managing records and information – paper and electronic.

The association was established in 1955. Its approximately 11,000 members include records managers, archivists, corporate librarians, imaging specialists, legal professionals, IT managers, consultants, and educators, all of whom work in a wide variety of industries, including government, legal, healthcare, financial services, and petroleum in the United States, Canada, and 30-plus other countries.

ARMA Southwest Region

The Southwest Region of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), International is the largest of ARMA's regions in the United States.. It covers the states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico (TALON).   There are 16 active chapters in Southwest Region. Total membership for the region is over 1300!

The Region is administered by a Region Manager. Financial responsibilities are administered by the Region Treasurer. The Southwest Region Manager is Everis Mollon, CRM; and the Southwest Region Treasurer is Nick Oudie. The Region also has four Region Coordinators who, along with the Region Manager, provide support and communications between ARMA International and the Region's 16 active chapters.

The Southwest Region offers financial assistance and grants to chapters for educational projects and long-term records and information management projects.  A Grant Committee is responsible for reviewing and approving/disapproving region grant submissions.

The region sponsors a Leadership Conference every year. This conference is generally held in July and its purpose is to educate chapter leaders on how to better administer their ARMA chapters. The conference is held at a different location in the Southwest Region each year.

Leadership Quote of the Day
"The very essence of leadership is its purpose. And the purpose of leadership is to accomplish a task. That is what leadership does–and what it does is more important than what it is or how it works"
Colonel Dandridge M. Malone
